So....Guest blogging. What to write about? I could write about my experiences in life, education, or in general. I could spill loads of secrets about Ashley...lol. Or just get on here and ramble on and on. So, what to do?
I vote for random. Being a Middle School teacher, I thrive on the randomness of everything. No day is the same and that's the way, uh-huh uh-huh, I like it.
I have had jobs where everyday and everything is the same. I couldn't take it. It was awful. Some people can do that....I can't.
I have had jobs where it was structured. Those were ok. But I really thrive on not knowing what is going to happen when I punch the clock and start my day. That's why I love being in a school. Nothing is the same. Never.
The best part of teaching for me is 'The Light bulb Moment.' It's that time when you know the students have it.
I love spicy foods. The spicier, the better. However, my body doesn't like them so much. I always develop a severe case of cramps and upset lower regions after about 12 hours.
I have very few pet peeves, but the ones I do have are major. Number 1, if you don't drive like I do, then I can't be on the same road as you. Number 2, if you open a can of pop, you better drink it all.
I have an innate knack of knowing the artist and song of a song. On road trips, as a family we played Radio Shuffle. Push seek and when it stops, you guess the song, artist, and for bonus points...album. I am a pro. So much so, that I get calls that go like this.."Hey, who sings that song that goes...?"
I don't hold grudges often, but I have some right now.
The first is against KFC in Richmond. I will not go through the drive-thru. I spent 30 minutes in there one day and have not been back since.
The second is against Shania Twain and Faith Hill. These two lovely vixens are responsible for the downfall of musical genres....Confused? I'll elaborate. Back in 1994, there were clear lines in the musical sand. You had rock, rap, pop, country and there wasn't any delineation between them. You never heard one type on the other and they all sounded different. Along comes Shania. Looking all hot and sexified, singing about 'Any Man of Mine' and the pop stations picked up on it. I mean, she looked good and sounded good. So, they played her songs. It caught on. Faith Hill followed suit. The line was crossed. So, today we have music and no genres. I hear country artists on pop radio, no clearly defined rock stations because I hear AC/DC on the Top 20 station. It's awful. Thanks girls.
I have been wearing contacts for right about 15 years. That seems like a lifetime ago. But it sure does beat glasses, except for the occasional stabbing eye pain.
I always put on my left shoe first. I guess it's my best foot.
I will not commit to a new series on television because every time I do, it gets canceled.
Hopefully I can contribute more some time, but those Blazin' wings from last night are begging to make an appearance.
