My pal, Sarah found a turtle in her parent's pool this weekend. Of course, in complete Sarah fashion, she rescued him, has been feeding him, named him, and had him at school yesterday. I have been unable to stop thinking about "Turdy" (one of her kids suggestions for a name). He was just so little and cuddly cute.
It got me thinking about when I had a turtle as a pet when I was a kid. We captured him from outside, I painted his shell with nail polish, and he ran around our yard...until my Dad ran over him with a lawn mower. OOPS! That was the only turtle pet that I ever had. But, I do like turtles.
