GOODNESS GRACIOUS!

Oh, y'all. I cannot WAIT to get out of BG tomorrow for a few days. I have just a couple of things to get off my chest...and fair warning...I am running on limited sleep right now and have reached my limit with people talking crap about me. LET IT GO!!!!!! So, here's my venting. Promise, nothing but happy posts from here on out, cause I'M HEADED TO HOUSTON!!

Some random anonymous commenter left me a strange request on my last post. You can see below. They were from BG, but I have no idea who they are. My tweets are protected. Sorry. If I don't know you/trust you, you will not have access. The way to get to "follow me" is not through an anonymous posting.

Also, my job is a KINDERGARTEN teacher. I do so many silly things for the sake of my students. Would I do any of this if I were working as a secretary in an office all day? No. My kids love it and have fun and it makes it worth being a little silly to see the smiles on their sweet, little faces. Just a few examples:
50th Day of School Celebration

Dress like your real life hero - Mine, a UK Basketball Player, of course!

My Assistant and I on a theme day for Book Fair

My Bestie and I for another Book Fair Theme Day

Yep, when the kids make hats, I make myself one and wear it with them. It makes the kids that aren't confident enough, feel better about it.

St. Patrick's Day
SO. If you wanna make fun of me for wearing a green wig, dressing up like one of the Incredibles or wearing a mustache, go ahead. My kids love it and in turn, it makes me a happy person. So, please let me have my fun in peace.

Okay, on to HAPPY THOUGHTS!!! Got our tickets and I'm packed up! Got a couple of new t-shirts and am SOOOOOOOOO ready!!! And for you sweet followers that know all about it, going to a NCAA Tournament game is on my 30 before 30 list!! YIPPEEE!!! Mark one off! :) I re-downloaded the blogger app, so I will keep y'all updated some over the weekend.

Again, sorry about the drama post. Sometimes a girl's gotta vent and FB or Twitter is not the place. Not sure what is up with the spacing on my pictures, but I can't fix it. LOVE!

Revenge Tour 2011

Scared of my title, bloggy friends? No worries. It's just a hint of something I am SO excited about!!! Next week is my Spring Break. Originally, my plans were to head to Memphis for a few days with my friend, Erica. No more, friends. Let me just give you a few hints of our new destination! :) And y'all, I am BESIDE MYSELF WITH EXCITEMENT!!!

That's right!! Heading to HOUSTON, TEXAS to cheer on my CATS in the FINAL FOUR!!! We also purchased Championship Game tickets, because I knew that I would definitely regret it if they make it and I didn't get a ticket while they were cheap. I cannot wait!!

I know that I have been a little M.I.A. lately and I apologize. I still love all y'all. I'm trying to learn how to balance school, grad classes, friends, boyfriend, ME time, and blogging. It's been a rough semester, so just hang in there. I will give you lots to read about from my trip when I return!

Me on the Map

I am linking up with my good little bloggy friend, Michelle for "Me on the Map". How fun is this link up?! You should totally go participate and show everyone about your hometown!

I am going to tell you all about Bowling Green, Kentucky. This is not where I was born and raised, but I have lived here for almost 10 years now and I consider it my home. I know that in my blog description, it says that I am trying to get out of here. I have tried a couple of times and it just hasn't worked out. I've come to the realization recently that I actually LOVE Bowling Green and I don't want to move away. I love my friends here, I'm in a good location, and I like the small town feel that it has without being a hole in the wall city. Ya dig?

So, on to tell you a little about where I'm from. Bowling Green is located about 2 hours south of Louisville, Kentucky and about an hour north of Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville is one of my favoritest cities and my friends and I go visit when we have time - especially to shop! :)

You like Corvettes? Well, it's rare to drive from one place to another without spotting AT LEAST one of these babies. Bowling Green is the only city in the U.S. to produce Corvettes. We have the Corvette Plant and Museum here. Sad to say, I have lived here so long and have never visited...bummer.

Bowling Green is also home to Western Kentucky University, my alma mater. I decided to come to WKU when I was about a sophomore in HS. I had a friend who was a freshman at WKU and her brother and I would come to visit her and I loved everything about it. I never regretted my decision and I still am proud to be a Hilltopper!
WKU's mascot is "Big Red". He's so lovable! It's really one of those things that you have to be part of to fully understand and appreciate. Kinda like the school's motto, "The Spirit Makes the Master"...By the way...that's me dressed up as Big Red! :)

Bowling Green is located on top of many caves. We are close to Mammoth Cave National Park and here in BG, we have Lost River Cave. They have tours or you can rent it out for events, such as proms or weddings. It's a beautiful place to have something special like that!
I've only ever done the boat tour once on a field trip. It was really neat to see the fish down in the water and my favorite (total sarcasm), the cave crickets!

Here are just some other random photos from around good ole BG. Enjoy the tour!

Most importantly, Bowling Green is the home to ME!!

Don't forget to link up with Michelle to let us know where you live!!

7 Facts Blog Award!

So, my sweet blog friend, Bre awarded me with the 7 Facts Blog Award!! You should check her out if you haven't already over at Breezy in Bloom.
I'm pretty random at times, so let's see how these 7 facts turn out...

1. I have applied to be on The Amazing Race. Apparently the casting directors don't know what would make for good TV or they would have chosen me and Sarah! 2 Kindergarten Teacher Besties...sounds like amazing reality TV. On top of that, we have some similar personality traits, but have some big differences, too...like cleanliness and sleeping habits. Could be hilarious. Maybe I'm just biased?

2. My most favorite food in the whole wide world is a hot dog. It's that simple for me. Give me a hot dog and some of the wonderful trimmings, and I will be your forever friend. Mustard, chili, jalapenos, sour kraut, reslish...just please. No ketchup on my dog. That's just not natural!

3. I probably own more Forever21 clothes than anything else. Most of the time when someone asks me where I got something, my reply is "Forever21". I just can't help it! They sure have some crazy looking stuff...like the stonewashed jean jumper that I saw in there recently. But then they have those precious jewels that you stumble upon. When you find one of those, you have to snatch it up before you lose it! I swear, I have seen something that I liked, put it back on the rack, walked around and thought, "I think I'll try that on." and then am unable to find it...it's a blackhole for clothing. It just disappears in there. But I love it.

4. I have never really liked having my nails painted. Recently, I have really gotten into this. I have bought several new nailpolishes in the past couple of months and they are all spring/summery colors and they make me pretty happy. Amazing what just a little color can do.

5. Okay. Don't judge me by what I am about to tell you. I am an extreme facebook stalker. I somehow find out more than I need to or want to just by clicking here and there and everywhere. Why is there this need to stalk on facebook and end up on an ex's page, or the boy's ex-girlfriend's page, or even someone's page that you don't even know! I just click to my heart's content and then realize that I have looked through 200 pictures on a complete stranger's profile. What the crap?!

6. I am OBSESSED with Turkey. No, not the lunchmeat or the famous Thanksgiving dish. The country. I love reading about it and would give my left boob to visit one day. I applied to teach there for a school year, but didn't get accepted. :( Sad day for this teacher. I wanted to move there, teach for a year and then bring home a little Turkish baby. Really. I've already decided that if I adpot, my first place to look into is Turkey. I just love the culture of Turkey.

7. College basketball is my favorite sport. I think that March Madness is better than Christmas!! It's such a fun time of the year and I love the competitiveness between everyone. I love to banter back and forth with fans of other teams. My favorite team, by the way, is Kentucky {Uh Duh}. So, here's to March Madness beginning this week! GOOOOOO CATS!!!!

Now, I am supposed to pass this award on to 7 other blogs. :) These are some of my favorites. You should definitely check them out!

I'm back in fuuuuuull force!

Good grief, y'all. What a few weeks it has been! I have really neglected this little blog and all you lovelies out there. I apologize. So what have I been doing in the time since I last wrote?! SO MUCH!! I am starting to feel more and more like myself the closer spring and summer are coming. I have had thoughts of the tanning bed, but have resisted...but this pasty is feeling extra pasty lately.

I have of course been teaching! Love those little kids. My teaching pal and real life bestie, Sarah and I plan math centers together. Lordy Merce! Those take so much time and energy. They are worth it, though. Here's a few samples of what we have done lately.

I made it through progress reports, center making, meetings, chili supper, and the book fair. WHEW!

Other than school, I had my WKU spring break last week. :)))))) NOOOOOOO GRAD SCHOOL HOMEWORK OR CLASSES!!! OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS. That was pure, pure bliss. I relaxed and I caught up on my DVR and had lots of important Ashley time.

This past weekend, Sarah and I headed down to Nashville for a little Predator's action. So fun! We were confused most of the game by the rules and the chants that were going on, but still had an absolute blast!

Check out that fight going on!! It was such a greeeeat fight. Very entertaining.
On Sunday, we went BACK down to Nashville to watch Matt's band, Easy Street play at Cadillac Ranch. It was a pretty important thing for them and I had a great time with Sarah and Erica! My friends, Erin and Nick came and met us down there, too. I'm pretty proud of the boy.
In other news. Very EXCITING news!!! My bf, Laura and I bought our plane tickets to England for this summer. So, so happy to be going and sharing this experience with such a great friend. Also, can't wait to see Big Ben! EEEEEEEEE!!!! {Insert little girl squeal}. Gotta dust off the passport!
Speaking of passport. How HORRIBLE and sad is it what is going on in Japan? I got the chance to go there a few years ago and my heart breaks thinking about how devastating this is for them. The people in Japan take so much pride in how clean and beautiful their country is. Seriously. In a city as large as Tokyo, I was never afraid to sit my little bum on a toilet seat. They are heated and oh. my. gosh. are they fabulous!! Well, that aside...I am really sad about what's going on there in that country.

Y'all...in other news. I love Bowling Green. I wouldn't still be here if I didn't. However, the small town drama has GOT to stop it. I can't even go work on my fitness anymore without it following me. My goodness gracious. BLAH! Okay. Vent over. I hope all you ladies out there have been having a great Monday. Just watched the finale of The Bachelor and let me tell you! WOOO WEEEE!!! EMILY! EMILY! EMILY!

OH! And another P.S. You ladies from my Pass it Forward. I have your things packaged...just have to brave the devil post office. Plans to do that Wednesday. Coming your way SOON!! Promise Promise! So sorry.
Hope everyone has a great week!
